Forty Words for Sorrow

Giles Blunt, Forty Words for Sorrow pg.9 "She and the others had all seen traffic fatalities, the occasional suicide and numerous drownings- none of which had prepared them for this."
I chose this video to represent bravery, courage, and sometimes not being able to stay strong through everything The protagonist, Detective John Cardinal, has to deal with a murder case of a young girl and doesn't quite know how to hold himself together.

  1. Aweh! very touching Alexandria, I personally love this song and I think it went well with your description of your protagonist. This book sounds sad! Is there a specific reason why Detective John Cardinal is so emotional about this case he has to investigate? perhaps he has a daughter or a history with a loved one which makes him sad at this case. Or, maybe, just the fact that it was a young girl who didn't deserve to die. This sounds like a good book and my type of genre! well done.

  2. I really like this song, and thought it fit the quote and description of his weakness really well. You didn`t have a prediction but I would guess that you finished the book then so you didn`t need one. I was actually going to put the same thing as Simone about whether or not he had a connection linked to her or his own daughter but after reading hers, I guess she did it for me! Overall you made me really interested in this book, would you recommend it?

  3. This sounds like a great book for touching problem resolutions. If I had to put that song into words that fit its level of song prestige, it would exeed the 2000 character limit given me so let's just say I like it. Listening to this song and reading your description of the book made me want to go read it. Did Detective John Cardinal let his feelings get in the way of his professionalism dealing with the case? Anyway, I now have to research this book a bit.
